REPORT OF WOLD AIDS DAY CELEBRATION HELD ON THE 1ST DECEMBER, 2010. { of Which Awaka Go Forward Int'l Was An Active Participant}
On the 1st of Dec, 2010 all NGO’S, CBO’S CSO’S in Imo state came together to celebrate the world AIDS day at FSP Mbari Road Owerri. The programme was organized by Imo SACA in conjunction with stakeholders and people from all works of life grace the Occasion. Personalities like her Excellency Barrister Lady Chioma Ohakim, commissioner of Health Dr Kwem, The Director general of Agency for control of AIDS Dr E.U Anyanwu and numerous schools in Imo state were there for instance, government college owerri, Holy Ghost college Owerri, Ikenegbu Girls secondary school, Akwakuma girl’s secondary school etc.
These schools also acted a drama on (HIV/AIDS) and the theme of their play- let is that discrimination among those living this HIV/AIDS should not be done, that the clients should have all the rights he/she should get in the society. In contribution to the world AIDS day, Awaka Go forward Int’l also produces over five hundred (#500) bead pin-up logo and two thousand IEC materials (#2,000) which was use to welcome guest for the occasion, and it was Recommended by Imo lights.
Notwithstanding, her Excellency Barrister Lady Chioma Ohakim gave a speech which focuses more on young youths where she lamented that their interest is more on white kola jobs than learning skills. She said, on the process of fighting to their white kola-jobs many now engaged themselves in all forms of immoral act, this can make them to contact this horrible diseases (HIV/AIDS).
Furthermore, she acknowledges the services these organizations rendered to humanity. Society for family and Health (SFH), National blood transfusion service (NBTS), she was also indebted to Hope walk organization for their benevolent attitude to the widows, orphans and the less privileges.
In the course of the programme a rally were conducted to ‘mark’ the 22nd World AIDS day in collaboration with Imo SACA and other NGO’S in Imo state, were the went to Owerri metropolis. This is to make the populace know that AIDS is real and also let the whole masses keep absslent from pre-marital sex more especially the youths and also for them to know their status.
At this juncture, we want to use this medium to thank the Director General of agency for control of AIDS for accommodating our bead pin-up logo and IEC materials.
It will interest us, if Imo state SACA, stakeholders, donor agencies and interested bodies to solicit with us; this will help us to yield a lager quantity of these materials so that numerous people will have access to it.
In conclusion, we enclose it with the samples of our materials.

A REPORT ON THE ANTI-CORRUTION REVOLUTION PROGRAMME HELD ON THE 9TH OF DECEMBER 2010 IN PARTERNERSHIP WITH THE ECONOMIC AND FINANICAL CRIME COMMISSION [EFCC] COMMEMORATE THE 2010 WORLD ANTI – CORRUPTION DAY WITH THE THEME: HONEST LEADER FOR A BETTER NIGERIA, IMO STATE CHAPTER. { of which Awaka Go Forward Int'l was an active participant}
The occasion started with the recognition of the chairman of the occasion the person of Mrs. Onyechi were the welcome address was conducted by Nze Eddy Ezuruike whereby the keynote lecturer was Chief [Mrs.) Sally Ibe PH.D.
Before the commencement of the programme ,the NYSC members and the students of girls secondary school Ikenegbu entertain us with their welcome songs and drama .Base on the song the NYSC members sang , the were seeking for the help of the [EFCC ] to fight against corruption .
Ikenegbu girls welcome song also reveals that corruption is not good especially for Nigerians.
In the same vain, NYSC members perform a drama on corruption titled [W.W.W force]
The state co-coordinator NPP9 Chief Dr. Sally Ibe gave a speech with the THEME; HONEST LEADER FOR A BETTER NIGERIA.
The theme review that Nigeria is in a close of good. She gave a clear concept of this words; honest leader. According to her, she said that honest is display of integrity, fairness, truthfulness, intention and action. She said that it is a most desirable feature of a person.
The concept leader she described it as somebody who others are following, somebody others are following. She makes us know that there are theories of leadership which are ;
Trait theory – In this type of theory leaders are born.
The second theory is a crisis situation or important occasion this is explain in great event theory an extra ordinary situation this is because we do not have options.
The last theory mentioned, and it is the most trusted theory today. In this type of theory people are learn to lead this can be done in school and can be explained by transformation process some are born great, born a leader, when it is entrusted in you and when you learn it.
Furthermore, she said, for leaders to attract respect you are respected as a leader when you are honest, but when you don’t have integrity you will not be honored. She let us know that good leadership is characterized by figures of knowledge, ability in a situation whereby your followers are more knowledgeable than what you are, you are gone.
During her lecture she gave us some features (graduates) of a leaders which are as follows:
Efficiency, fruitfulness, vision, Ability to generate cooperation, Accountability etc. she explain a situation whereby a leader don’t have this qualities he /she will not make it in life.

On the contrary, the concept Nigeria; she says that Nigeria as a country with different languages, there is abundant natural resources and suffiencent natural resources that makes it a grant of Africa. She complained that our problem is corrupt leadership and mismanagement and saying that Nigeria will not be better if we do not have honest leaders.
She made it clear that, we have right / power to get a better leader, those that have integrity, and those that will make Nigeria to be in a better hand.
She gave as an instance in the letter of St. Paul to the Philippians chapter 4 verse 8; she quote my brother, full your mind with those things that are good and that deserves praise, things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely and honorable.
